Abbreviated as APPSC, Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission and it is operating under the control of the state government of Andhra Pradesh. It is responsible for conducting recruitment examination for various government job positions in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Recruitment by Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission:

Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission has invited for online applications from eligible candidates for the various positions to work different departments of the government of AP. The online application will be made available on the website of APPSC from 9th of December to 8th of January 2011.

Name of the Vacancies: Regional Transport Officers in A.P. Transport Service, District Social Welfare Officer in A.P. Social Welfare Service, Municipal Commissioner Grade-II in A.P. Municipal Administration Service, Assistant Prohibition & Excise Superintendent in A.P. Prohibition & Excise Service

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 18, which is divided among the two positions mentioned above as follows:

1. Regional Transport Officers in A.P. Transport Service - 06

2. District Social Welfare Officer in A.P. Social Welfare Service - 05

3. Municipal Commissioner Grade-II in A.P. Municipal Administration Service - 03

4. Assistant Prohibition & Excise Superintendent in A.P. Prohibition & Excise Service  - 04

Pay Scale: For position 1 mentioned above, candidates will be coming under the pay of 19050-45850, for position 2, pay scale will be Rs. 18030-43630, while for other two positions, the pay scale will be Rs. 16,150-42,590

Eligibility requirements:

Educational Qualification: For all positions, candidates must be UG degree holders from a university recognized by the UGC. On the other hand, for the position of District Social Welfare Officer preference will be given to candidates with degree in social work or sociology.

Mode of selection:

For all positions, candidates will be selected based on the marks secured by them in the written examination, which should be taken up only by the candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirements. Application fee:

Application processing fee of Rs.100 should be paid by all candidates and candidates who are not exempted from payment of fee will have to pay Rs.120 towards examination fee. Candidates will have to log on to the website of www.apspsc.gov.in and should enter all personal details and after filling up the details, they will get downloadable challan form, which should be used for payment of fee through AP online centres or SBI. Last date for payment of application fee is 06th of January 2012.
