Henry Baker College came into existence in the year 1981 and the college is permanently affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University located in Kottayam. The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission under section 2 (f) and 12 (b) and it is coming under the category of aided & affiliated colleges in the state of Kerala. The college is recognized by the National Minority Commission and it is Christian Minority institution.

HBC Computer Centre in the campus of Henry Baker College:

A computer centre is functioning in the campus of the college for meeting the computer-education requirements of ministerial staff, teachers and students. All these people are offered training on software applications and the center offers the following courses:

This centre acts as an accredited training center of Maldives Qualification Authority and it conducts distance education courses for foreign nationals as well. The centre also offers free coaching to SC/ST/OBC and OEC candidates and for minority students as well and coaching on communicative English and English Speaking skills are also offered.

International linkages:

Henry Baker College encourages Volunteer Exchange Programme as a part of the initiative of the institution in learning international and inter-cultural exchanges. For mutual enrichment, fraternal organizations send volunteers to the campus of the college. During the academic year 2008-09, Mr. Craig Mclughlin Thomas from the United Kingdom served for the college for three months for helping the students in developing their communicative English skills. In addition, the college also acts as member of the Colleges and Universities of Anglican Communion centered in New York, All India Association for Christian Higher Education located in Delhi and the institute also has international Association for the promotion of Christian Higher Education.
