Maharana Pratap Dental College is running under the control of the Maharana Pratap Group of Institutions and the college came into existence in the year 2005. The college came into existence with a strong vision of meeting the aspirations of young professionals in the field of dentistry. The college has earned approval from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Government of India and from the Dental Council of India and affiliation from the Chhattrapati Shahuji Maharaj University located in Kanpur.

Course Details:

The only course offered by Maharana Pratap Dental College is Bachelor of Dental Surgery and for this course, the Dental Council of India has permitted the college to admit 100 students per year. Earlier, the duration of BDS course was 4 years plus one year of internship, but from the academic year 2008-09, it was changed as a complete five-year course without any internship programme.

Admission Criteria for BDS course:

Admission is offered to the BDS course by the Maharana Pratap Dental College only for those candidates, who have completed 17 years of age and date of birth as recorded in the high school /UP Board/ICSE will be accepted for calculating the age of candidates. Candidates, who have completed their higher secondary or equivalent examination from the state board/CBSE/pre-university scheme with biology, chemistry, physics and English as optional subjects securing not less than 50% of marks are eligible to apply to the first year of the BDS course. In addition, they should also qualify in the PMT Entrance Examination or in the Entrance Examination of the corresponding year conducted by the Association of Private Medical and Dental Colleges in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Since the college has limited number of seats for the BDS course, admission shall be made based on the rank obtained by candidates in the entrance test and for NRI quota seats, admission will be done according to the rules of the state government.

Library at Maharana Pratap Dental College:

The campus of the college is provided with a well-stocked library with the provision of internet facility and it caters to the educational needs of the candidates. The library is constructed in a huge area and it is regarded as the strength of the institution. Since a well laid-out digital library adjoins the main library, it will offer further easy access to the students.  The main library is provided with sections like reprography, binder room, draftery room, staff reading room, general room and students reading room. The clinical books in the library consists of international and modern standard books and there are about 4000 books in 350 different titles. There are also 11 international journals and the library has a capacity to accommodate 150 students at a time.
