Company profile: Power Grip Corp Ltd is a Navratna Public Sector and a reputed unit. It is a premier power transmission utility of the country and one of the largest transmission utilities of the world. It has 120 EHVAC and HDVC sub stations and transmits around 45% of the power on its network
Job profile: The trainees would be responsible for learning the work of their respective departments while slowly building their command over the work (like construction, design of distribution systems and working on electrical systems for transmission of power). They will be required to work in civil and electrical departments.
Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age of 27 years as on 31st August 2009. However, relaxation can be claimed as per the rules.
Educational Qualifications: A candidate must have a diploma in civil or electrical engineering from a recognized university or an institution with a minimum of 70% (passing marks for SC/ST candidates).
No. of posts: There are 42 posts (27-UR, 2-SC, 7-ST and 6-OBC) for trainees in the electrical department and 13 posts (8-UR, 1-SC, 2-ST and 2-OBC) in the civil department.
Pay scale: The trainees will initially be given a stipend of Rs7300 and on successful completion of their 1 year training they will be regularized as junior engineers in the pay scale of Rs7300-12660.
Selection process: The candidates have to appear in a written test and the qualifying candidates will appear for an interview.
How to apply: The candidates are required to apply as per the format given on the website. The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs200 in the form of a DD to be drawn in the favor of “Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd” payable at Nagpur. The candidates must send the attested copies of their certificates along with the application to the Manager (HR), Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, WRTS-I, Headquarters, Nari Ring Road, P.O Uppalwadi, Nagpur – 440026. The candidates must write the name of the post on the envelope.
The last date for the receipt of applications is 5th October 2009.
