South Indian Bank has called for applications from eligible candidates for the position of Probationary Clerks for working in its branches in the Bangalore region of the bank. Here are the details regarding the notifications issued by the bank in this regard.

Name of the Vacancy: Probationary Clerks for Bangalore Region

Number of Vacancies: 25

Period of Probation – The period of probation is for six months and confirmation shall be made subject to the satisfactory performance of the candidates.

Pay Scale: Candidates selected for the position of Probationary Clerks will be paid according to the National Bipartite Settlement in the Banking Industry.

Eligibility requirements:

Educational qualification: Candidates must possess graduation from a recognized university and must have completed a regular 10+2+3 course securing not less than 55% of marks in science stream or 50% of marks in arts or any other stream of education. Candidates should be proficient in computer operations.

Domicile: Candidates with permanent address in the state of Karnataka for more than five years and are proficient in the languages of English and Kannada are only eligible to apply. As a proof towards their domicile in the state of Karnataka, they will have to produce documentary proof.

Age: Upper age limit is 26 years as on 31st of December 2011. Upper age relaxation of five years is applicable for SC/ST candidates.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidates will be based on written test and interview and the likely centre for written test is the city of Bangalore.
