The campus placement procedure of Tata Elxis involves many stages. Candidates are required to clear the written test, technical round and the HR interview to be selected.

Selection procedure

The selection process happens in three stages.

• Written test
• Technical round
• HR Interview

The written test contains questions that test a candidate’s aptitude and knowledge. Candidates are required to complete the written test within 100 minutes. A total of 100 questions are required to be answered by the candidate. The written test carries a total of 100 marks. The four sections included in the written test are as follows:

• Verbal Section
• Aptitude Section
• Numerical Section
• Technical Section

The verbal section contains 25 questions to be answered in 20 minutes. It contains questions based on basic grammar, reading comprehension etc. The aptitude section consists of 25 questions. Question in this section are based on logical reasoning, cube problems, Venn diagram and simple numerical problems. Candidates are required to complete the section in 25 minutes. The numerical section includes simple calculation based questions. Candidates are required to answer 25 questions in 25 minutes. The final section is the technical section. Questions concerning networking and logical structures will be asked in this section. This section features 30 questions which are to be answered in 30 minutes.

Those who clear the written examination will be shortlisted for the technical round. The candidate’s technical knowledge will be evaluated in this round. The technical round will be conducted as an interview. Questions will be asked based on the candidate’s subject of study. The interview panel can also ask questions based on the project undertaken by the candidate in the final year of study.

The final stage is the HR interview. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend this interview. Candidates can also face general questions. The personality and attitude of the candidate will be evaluated in this final round. Questions can also be asked based on the resume prepared by the candidate.

Preparation tips

Candidates can prepare for the placement process by referring to previous year’s placement papers. A basic knowledge of the subject of study is necessary to clear the tests. Aspirants can refer to books by R.S. Agarwal and Sakuntala Devi to have a comprehensive overview of the question pattern of the aptitude test. Aspirants should also be updated about current affairs and events. Newspapers and magazines can be useful in this regard. Candidates should also develop their communication and interpersonal skills.
