L. M. Thapar School of Management offers MBA programs of 2 year and 3 year duration. In 3 year MBA program, candidate should dedicate the last one year for bridge courses. Candidates seeking admission to one year bridge course should be a bachelor degree holder in Science. Selection procedure to the course varies slightly for the 2 year MBA program.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA in L. M. Thapar School of Management (LMTSOM)

Graduates having 60% aggregate marks are eligible to apply. For 2 year MBA program, graduation must be obtained in any of the streams in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Electronics. Candidates having graduation in Physics/Statistics/ Operations Research, or Information Science/ Technology can also apply. Those seeking admission to 3 year MBA program should have completed their graduation in any of the science streams. The degree must be obtained with Mathematics or Statistics as subjects.

Admission Process for MBA in L. M. Thapar School of Management (LMTSOM)

Admission to MBA programs is given on the basis of online entrance test, group discussion, and personal interview. Candidates having a good score in CAT /MAT or CMAT are not required to attend the online entrance test. Such candidates will be considered for admission through group discussion and interview.

Online entrance test is conducted by the institute to evaluate candidate’s knowledge and skills in the following areas.

• Aptitude
• Basic science
• Analytical skill
• Communication skill and English comprehension

The test comprises of objective type questions only. The total time allotted for the completion of the test is 1 and half hours.

For admission to 2 year MBA program, work experience of the candidate is also considered. During admission process, 60% weightage of marks will be given for score obtained in entrance test (national level entrance test/ online entrance test). 15 % weightage will be given for score obtained in group discussion. 15% and 5% weightage will be given for personal interview and work experience respectively.

For admission to 3 year MBA programs, 60% weightage of marks will be given for entrance test score, 20% for Group discussion and 20% for personal interview.

Applications for attending the entrance test can be collected from the official portal of Thapar University. Application fee for attending the test is Rs. 1500/-. This can be remitted via online mode or in the form of Demand Draft. Those who are making fee payment in the form of DD should send the same along with filled up application form. Application form complete in all respects should reach the admission cell of Thapar University before last date.
