Government Engineering College, Thrissur is one among the oldest and well known institutions in Kerala, affiliated to Calicut University. B.Tech course is offered in regular/part time mode. Admission to regular programs is done on the basis of Kerala Engineering/Medical Entrance Examination. Eligibility requirements and Admission procedure in Government Engineering College, Thrissur

Those who have completed HSC course from any of the Universities of Kerala or equivalent can join B.Tech course. HSC must be completed with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects. Eligible candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% marks both in mathematics (individually) and in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (aggregate). For lateral entry admissions candidate must be a diploma holder from Kerala State Board of Technical Examinations or any other equivalent institution. The course must be completed with at least 50% marks in second and third year. Pass mark is only required in case of SC/ST candidates. Candidates who have completed 3 year diploma program and having professional experience in engineering stream can pursue the course via part time. Minimum 2 years work experience is required for eligible candidates.

Admission under regular scheme is done on the basis of Kerala Engineering/Medical Entrance Examination or national level entrance exams like AIEEE/ISEET. Lateral entry admissions are based on the entrance test conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala.

B.Tech graduates from Calicut University or equivalent can apply for M.Tech course in the concerned stream. Admission is offered on the basis of GATE score. Such candidates are offered with scholarship of Rs. 8000/- per month.

Bachelor degree holders in Computer Science/Information Technology can apply for MCA course. Other graduates who have studied mathematics as a subject or B.Tech graduates with aggregate of 50% marks are also eligible to apply. Selection is done either on the basis of Kerala MCA Entrance Examination/ All India MCA Common Entrance Test (AIMCET).
