The Government Engineering College was set up in the year 1993. The college is funded by the government and was established to enhance the engineering education quality in the country. The institute is continuously upgraded for maintaining its reputation.

Courses Offered

The college provides bachelor’s degree in a number of engineering disciplines which include Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The institute also provides masters program in engineering in Environment Engineering, Power Engineering, Production Engineering and Industrial Engineering.

The students of the college are always well placed and the companies recruiting them can be mentioned such as Essar Communication, Reliance Communications, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Polaris and HCL Technologies.

Infrastructure

The institute has an expansive and beautifully designed campus with separate blocks housing facilities for different streams of engineering. The well furnished library of the college houses more than 35000 volumes of books, there is a gym also within the campus. The college keeps in constant touch with various core companies for assisting the placements and training programs.

Admission Procedure and Eligibility Criteria

The candidates have to pass a two level entrance test for getting the admission. The written entrance test is followed by a personal interview session (only for the successful candidates of the written test).

The applicant for admission must be an Indian citizen with a minimum 55% aggregate at Higher Secondary Examination with compulsory pass in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
