Admission to the graduate level as well as post graduate level courses offered by Guru Gobind Singh College is done on the basis of the scores obtained in qualifying exams.   The college follows the norms and rules of Punjab University for admission procedure. Admission will be purely on merit.

Admission to Arts Subjects

Admission to under graduate courses in Arts subjects is carried out on the basis of marks obtained in higher secondary exam. Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 33 % marks in aggregate. Candidate who have studied any stream in higher secondary exam are eligible to apply for this course. Candidates who seek admission to post graduate courses in Arts subjects are required to score a minimum of 45 % marks in aggregate in their bachelor’s degree of Arts.

Candidates who have completed graduation in Science and Commerce subjects are required to obtain a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate to be eligible for admission. Candidates belonging to reserved category can avail reservation as per the norms of Government of India.

Admission to Arts Subjects

Candidates who have studied science stream in higher secondary are eligible for admission in bachelor level degree programmes in science subjects. They should secure a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate in qualifying exam. Candidates who have studied PCB/ PCM are eligible to apply.

Admission to Commerce Subjects

Candidates who have completed higher secondary  from a recognised board in any stream with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate are eligible to apply. They should have studied Mathematics/ Statistics as one subject in higher secondary. Candidates seeking admission to post graduate course must have passed B.Com or BBA examination recognized by Punjab University. They are required to secure a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate in qualifying exam.

Admission to Computer Science

Candidates who have passed higher secondary in any discipline with Mathematics/ Science as one of the subjects are eligible for under graduate courses. They should secure a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks in qualifying exam. Candidates who have completed graduation in courses such as BCA/ BSc/ B.Tech in Computer Science from any university, recognized by UGC are eligible for admission to post graduate courses. Graduates from any stream with a minimum of 50 % marks can apply for Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application.
