The Centre of Distance Education, Anna University offers admission to MCA on the basis of Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET)/TANCET. DEET is conducted two times in a year, in the months of January and July. Eligible candidates will be admitted either to calendar year batch or academic year batch. Candidates who get qualified in entrance test conducted in January will be admitted for calendar year batch where those who get qualified though July test can have admission to both batches.

Eligibility Requirements for Distance/Correspondence MCA at Anna University

Anna University follows AICTE prescribed eligibility criterion for admission to MCA. Bachelor degree from a recognized University is the basic qualification required for admission. The bachelor degree must be of three year duration and must be obtained under 10+2+3pattern. Candidate must have completed the course with mathematics as a subject in 12th standard or should have studied Mathematics or Statistics or any computer oriented subject during graduation.

Candidates having completed AMIE from any of the institutions recognized by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) can also seek admission to the course. Such candidates must possess minimum two years of professional experience after completing the course.

Admission procedure for Distance/Correspondence MCA at Anna University

Anna University conducts an entrance test for the selection of eligible candidates through distance or correspondence mode. The entrance test namely Distance Education Entrance Test or DEET is conducted by the Centre of Distance Education, Anna University in all the major cities of Tamil Nadu. The examination will be conducted two times in a year.

DEET is carried out as an objective model test, which must be completed within a time duration of 2 hours. There will be 100 questions for the test, each carrying 1 mark. Questions for the entrance test are based on the following topics.

• Basic Science
• Analytical Reasoning
• Computer Awareness
• Logical Reasoning
• Quantitative Ability
• Verbal Activity

Other than DEET, candidates who have scored well in TANCET are also eligible for admission. But these candidates can seek admission only to calendar year batch.

Filled up application along with attested copies of mark lists must reach the address of the Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University before closing date. Candidates desirous to have acknowledgement on receipt of application must enclose a self addressed postal card while submitting application.
