Admission Procedure for Master of Arts in Economics

Candidates who have completed bachelor’s degree in Arts with Economics as one subject from any institute, recognized by UGC are eligible to apply for this course. They should have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in graduation. In case of reserved category candidates, the marks percentage required is 45%. Admission the course is based on the score obtained in Andhra Pradesh University Common Entrance Test (AUCET).

Exam Pattern of Common Entrance Test

The entrance test will contain questions which evaluate candidate’s knowledge and skills in the subject. There will be multiple choice objective type questions in the exam. Candidates can expect a total of 90 questions in the examination. The question paper is further divided into 3 parts i.e. Part A, Part B and Part C. Part A contains 40 questions of 40 marks and part B carries 30 questions of 30 marks. Part C contains 20 questions and each question carries one mark. There will be negative marking of .25 for every wrong answer. Maximum time allotted for attending all the questions is one hour. Questions will be asked from the topics prescribed in the syllabus for B.A Economics. Final selection will be based on the scores obtained in qualifying examination as well as in entrance exam.
