Candidates who have graduated in any subject are eligible to apply for the post of ‘Assistant Public Provident Fund Commissioner’ in Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). Selection Procedure includes written test as well personal interview. UPSC is responsible for conducting this objective model written test. Questions will be asked from topics such as Current Events, Industrial Relations and Labour Laws, Statistics and General English.

Eligibility Criterion for ‘Assistant Public Provident Fund Commissioner’ in EPFO

Indian citizens and those who have migrated from Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet and East African Countries and permanently settled in India are eligible to apply. Those who belong to other countries should submit certificate of eligibility, issued by the Government of India. Graduation in any discipline is the minimum education qualification. Apart from this, diploma holders in Labour Laws/ Public Administration are preferable.  Candidates should not be more than 35 years of age at the time of application. Relaxation of age up to 5 years is applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories, physically challenged, Central Government employees and ex-servicemen.

Selection Procedure of ‘Assistant Public Provident Fund Commissioner’ in EPFO

Recruitment to the post of ‘Assistant Public Provident Fund Commissioner’ in EPFO is conducted on the basis of scores obtained in written test and final interview conducted by UPSC. Written test will contain objective type multiple choice questions. The duration of the test is 2 hours. Maximum marks allotted for the exam is 100. Medium of examination will be in Hindi as well as English Language. The question paper comprises of 2 sections such as

  • General English
  • General Studies

General English contains questions to measure candidates’ proficiency in English Language. General Studies will contain questions from the following topics

  • Development and Globalization
  • Current Events
  • Trends in Indian Economy
  • Industrial Relations and Labour Laws
  • Basic Knowledge of Computer Application
  • Statistics

There will be negative marking for wrong answers. One third of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer. Those who have cleared written test will be short listed for personal interview. There will be separate weightage of marks for interview.

Application Procedure of ‘Assistant Public Provident Fund Commissioner’ in EPFO

Candidates are required to apply online from the official website of UPSC. Candidates will have to pay Rs 25/- as application fee. Those who belong to reserved categories other than OBC are exempted from fee payment. Fee payment can be done through any branches of State Bank of India. Fee can be remitted either by cash or through net banking facility.
