Admission to Ph.D(Commerce) in Delhi University
Admission to the course of Doctor of Philosophy in Commerce in Delhi University is provided in two ways i.e. direct admission and entrance exam. Candidates who have completed post graduation in respective subjects from a recognized University are eligible for admission. They are required to secure a minimum of 55% marks in qualifying examination. There is no age bar for this program. Candidates who have obtained fellowships/ scholarships are only eligible to get direct admission.
Eligibility Criterion for Ph.D(Commerce) in Delhi University
Candidates who are seeking admission to Doctor of Philosophy in Commerce in Delhi University should have completed any of the following listed courses from a recognized University.
- Master of Commerce (M.Com)
- Master of International Business (MIB)
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Master of Finance and Control (MFC)
- Master of Human Resources and Organizational Development (MHROD)
Aspirants are required to secure a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in qualifying examination so as to be eligible. Apart from these, candidates who have completed post graduation in any other subjects are also eligible to apply for this program. Such candidates should have good academic record of a minimum of first class marks in qualifying examination. In addition to this, they are required to submit an equivalence certificate from the Association of India Universities/ Delhi University so as to be eligible. Those who have completed post graduation from foreign Universities are required to secure 50% marks for eligibility.
Admission Procedure
Admission to the course is carried out in two modes.
- Direct Admission
- Entrance Exam
Candidates who have obtained scholarships/ fellowships from other Universities, including foreign universities are eligible to apply through direct admission. Apart from this, permanent teachers who are working in any of the recognized University or Research Institute in India can also seek admission through this scheme. Such candidates are required to have a minimum of 3 years professional experience. They are required to submit No Objection Certificate. They will be able to take study leave up to two years for the completion of residential study of the University of Delhi. Those who are having M.Phil degree from University of Delhi are also eligible to seek direct admission.
Admission to other candidates will be based on the basis of entrance exam carried out by the university. M.Phil degree holders from other universities are also required to attend entrance examination. Final selection will be based on scores obtained in Entrance examination as well as in counseling conducted by the department concerned.
