Pattern and Application Process for C-CAT 2013

C-DAC conducts Common Admission Test (C-CAT) for taking admissions to PG Diploma courses except PG-DST. The test consist of 3 sections A, B and C. Candidate need to appear one/ two/ three test papers on the basis of course selected. Applications for admission test can be submitted online through the official website of C-DAC. Application fee for C-CAT is Rs.1000/-.

Pattern for Common Admission Test (C-CAT)

C-DAC conducts Common Admission Test C-CAT for all Post Graduate Diploma Courses except PG-DST. Admission for PG-DST is done through Competence in Software Technology – CST. Candidates who pass C-CAT will only be considered for PG Diploma courses admission. Candidates shall apply for C-CAT online via official website of C-DAC.  Duration of the test will be for one hour and consist of Section A, B and C. Candidates need to appear for one/two or three test (Section A,B and C) according to the course applied for. Every section consists of 50 objective type questions carrying 3 marks each. Negative marks will be given for wrong answers. Multiple answers to single question will be considered as wrong answers.

Candidates qualifying for ‘Section A’ test paper alone can learn following courses;

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Informatics (PG-DHI)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Geoinformatics (PG-DGi)

Candidates qualifying for ‘Section A’ and ‘Section B’ test papers have to learn following courses;

  • Post Graduate Diploma in IT Infrastructure, Systems and Security (PG-DITISS)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in System Software Design (PG-DSSD)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in wireless and Mobile Computing (PG-DWiMC)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Computing (PG-DAC)

Candidates qualifying for ‘Section A’, Section B and Section C test papers have to learn following courses;

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Integrated VLSI and Embedded Systems Design (PG-DIVESD)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Automation and SCADA Systems (PG-DASS)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in VLSI Design (PG-DVLSI)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Embedded Systems Design (PG-DESD)

Syllabus for C-CAT

  • Section A covers topics like English, Quantitative Aptitude and English
  • Section B covers topics like C Programming, Data Structures, Computer Fundamentals, Data Communications and Networks, Operating Systems and Object Oriented Programming
  • Section C covers topics like Digital Electronics, Microprocessors and Computer Architecture

Application Process for C-CAT 2013

Candidates should pay an application fee of Rs. 1000/- online through the official website of C-DAC and Rs.100- need to be paid each for selected courses. Application fee can be paid online using credit/debit cards. C-DAC’s affiliated training centres or C-DAC centres will accept cash payments provided with certain conditions.
