Admission Procedure for M.Tech (Computer Science) in SSSIHL

M.Tech (Computer Science) is one among the professional courses offered at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL). Engineering/M.Sc holders in concerned subject with at least 60% marks can apply. Selection of eligible candidate is made through a five stage process, aptitude test in general English, written test in computer science and mathematics, programming skills test (practical), technical viva-voce, and final interview.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech (Computer Science) in SSSIHL

Eligible candidate must hold any of the qualification as mentioned below.

  • Master of Science in Mathematics
  • Master of Science in Physics
  • Master of Science in Computer Science
  • Master of Computer Application
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science

Applicant must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying exam. Final year students who have appeared for the qualifying exam are also eligible to seek admission. Such candidates must hold a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the preceding years/semesters.

Other than educational qualifications, applicants must satisfy age requirements also. Age of the applicant must be less than 27 years.

Admission Procedure for M.Tech (Computer Science) in SSSIHL

Selection of eligible candidate is made through five stages.

  • Aptitude Test in General English
  • Written Test in Computer Science and Mathematics
  • Programming Skills Test (Practical)
  • Technical Viva-Voce
  • Final Interview

Aptitude Test in General English is carried out to evaluate the communication skills of the candidate. An essay type question is asked for this session. Duration for the test is half an hour and marks allotted for the same is 20.

Written Test is carried out in two parts, Part A and Part B. In part A, there will be objective type questions of 80 numbers. One mark is given for each question. Sixty questions are asked from the session of computer science and remaining 20 questions from mathematics. Part B includes short answer type questions of 8 numbers. Four short answer questions of 5 marks are asked from each of the topics of computer science and mathematics. Total duration for the test is two hours and questions on computer science and mathematics are asked in the ratio of 67%: 33%.

Programming Skills Test: Those who qualify aptitude and written test can undergo programming skills test. The test is conducted in C language to evaluate candidate’s skill in designing, coding and debugging. Duration for the test is 2 and half hours and marks given for the same are 80.

Oral Test is given for 30 marks. This session is conducted to check the analytical abilities and comprehension of basics. 

Interview is the final stage of selection. This is conducted for those candidates who have qualified practical and oral test.
