VIT offers M.Tech course in different disciplines such as Structural Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and CAD/CAM. Admission to the course is done through an entrance exam followed by personnel interview. An entrance exam called VITMEE (VIT’s Masters Entrance Examination) is conducted for the purpose. Those who clear VIT MEE will be short listed for personnel interview.

Admission Procedure for M.Tech in VIT

It is essential for eligible candidates to complete B.E/B.Tech degree from any of the recognized institute or University and must score at least 50% marks in the exam. Those who are pursuing final year graduation can also apply for the same provided they are able to meet the prescribed eligibility criteria within the time of admission. The admission procedure for M.Tech course primarily depends on entrance examination. It is compulsory for candidates to attend an entrance examination called VITMEE (VIT’s Masters Entrance Examination) organized separately by this University. Those who obtain a specified cut off score in VITMEE can participate in further stages of admission process. Names of such candidates who got selected will be listed in the official website of VIT, on the priority basis of VITMEE score. They need to attend a personal interview. It is compulsory for candidates to pay off a deposit towards counseling fees (which is refundable). The specified counseling fee amount needs to be paid as Demand Draft (DD) on behalf of VIT University and it must be payable at Vellore. Those candidates who fail to pay the counseling fees cannot take part in the admission procedures conducted. Counseling is the last stage of selection process where candidates can fix their stream of specialization and confirm their admission to the course.
