Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has issued notification for Common Written Examination (CWE) for the profile Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee. CWE is conducted for the recruitment of eligible candidates to any one of the participating banks. Graduation from any of the recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks is the basic qualification required. Applicants need to have operating and working knowledge in computers. Questions on Computer Knowledge, English Language, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning are asked for the written test.

Eligibility Criteria for IBPS PO/MT 2013

Graduation from any of the recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks is the basic qualification required. Those with minimum marks of 59.99% (is considered as less than 60%) are not eligible to participate in the placement process. SC/ST/PWD holders need to hold at least 55% marks only. Applicants need to have operating and working knowledge in computers. For this, they should have degree/diploma/certificate in computer operations/Language. Study of computer as a subject either at school/college level is also acceptable.

Exam Pattern for IBPS PO/MT 2013

Common written exam for IBPS P.O/MT profile comprise questions from the following topics.

  • Computer Knowledge
  • English Language
  • General Awareness
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning

Time duration given for the completion of the test is 2 hours. Questions on reasoning and quantitative aptitude are asked for 50 marks each. Each of the sessions of English Language and General Awareness carries 40 marks. Twenty marks are allotted for the session of Computer Knowledge. Number of questions asked for each session is not yet specified by IBPS. Candidates need to obtain a minimum cut off score in each session and a minimum total score to qualify. Cut off marks will be decided as per the number of vacancies available. Qualified candidates in written test are short listed for interview.

Applications for attending the CWE can be submitted through the web portal of IBPS. Application fee payment can be done either through online or offline mode. Application fee for attending the test is Rs. 600/-. Online fee payment can be made with the help of master/visa card or internet banking facility. This can be done after submitting the filled up applications through the website of IBPS. Those who are making fee payment through offline method should download the fee payment challan from the portal, after submitting online applications. Once the application process got completed successfully, applicants are issued with a e-receipt, a registration number and password. These details must be kept safe for future reference.
