National Law Institute University (NLIU) admits candidates to its 5 year LLB program through Common Law Admission Test.  National Law Institute University was established by the Rastriya Vidhi Sansthan Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam, 1997 by Madhya Pradesh Legislature. NLIU is a well recognised institute for its law education. NLIU is one of the 12 national law universities in India.

National Law Institute University is located in the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal. It has 82 seats in its 5 year BA LLB program out of which 50% seats are reserved for Mandhya Pradesh candidates and rest are opened to All India candidates.

The Institute offers great exposure to the candidates in terms of practical level as well as in facilities based on infrastructure. The Institute primarily aims at developing a rich sense of responsibility as well as excellence within the candidates and instills within each of them, the ideologies that enable them to provide the best service to the nation as well as the society. The Institute also offers great teaching staffs which enable them to establish innovative style of teaching.

Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with atleast 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories). Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2011 can also apply.
Also a candidate should be under 20 years (22 years for reserved categories) before 1st July, 2011.

Availability of Application forms:

Since the admission to NLIU is through CLAT candidates need to apply for CLAT. Candidates can get the form of CLAT through designated branches of Indian Bank, State bank of India and all participating National Law Schools. Candidates can also download the form through the website www.clat.ac.in One can also get the forms of CLAT through the CLAT office by post by sending a demand draft along with the request for form.

Important Dates for CLAT:

Date of Entrance Examination: First week of May, 2011
Availability of Application Forms: Last week of January, 2011
Last Date for receipt of completed application forms: First week of April, 2011

Total Seats: 82 Seats
All India seats: 41 seats
Madhya Pradesh candidates seats: 41 seats

Examination Pattern of CLAT:

CLAT paper will be of 2 hours containing 200 multiple choice questions from the following sections:

English including Comprehension: 40 questions
General Knowledge/Current Affairs: 50 questions
Elementary Mathematics: 20 questions
Legal Aptitude: 45 questions
Logical Reasoning: 45 questions
