Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose College was formed late back in the year 1968 when the University of Calcutta approved the two institutions under the control of Birla Group. Later, these two colleges were brought together and named as Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose College in the year 1979.

Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose college is affiliated by National Council for Teacher’s Education in the year 1995 to offer Bachelor of Education and it is also approved by University Grants Commission under Sec. 12 (B) and 2 (f) in the year 1968. In the year 2007, the college has also got approval from NAAC.
Facilities to the students:
Every year, free health check-ups for the students is organized by the college and the students are allowed to access internet facility in the computer lab and in the library of the college.
