Ministry of Health & Family Welfare is setting up six autonomous AIIMS institutions of National Importance and for filling up the vacancies of Additional professor and Associate Professor in these institution, the ministry has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens or candidates of Indian origin holding OCI status on contractual, deputation and regular basis and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this regard:

Name of the Vacancies: Additional Professor and Associate Professor

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 16, which is divided among different subjects for which Associate and Additional professors are required is given below:

o Pathology/lab medicine – 01

• Associate Professor - 09

Of these 07 posts for Additional Professor and 09 posts for Associate Professor, 2 posts each are reserved for OBC candidates, 01 post each for SC candidates and 01 post each for ST candidates.

Pay Scale: Appointed candidates will be coming under the pay scale of Rs.37400-67000 with AGP of Rs.9500 plus NPA for medically qualified candidates for Additional Professor and Rs.37400-67000 with AGP of Rs.9000 plus NPA for medically qualified candidates for Associate Professor.

Eligibility requirements:

Qualification for both positions: Qualification requirements might be relaxed for highly reputed, trained and experienced candidates at the discretion of search-cum-selection committee. However, general conditions are:

• PG degree from an institution recognized by MCI or equivalent in the concerned subject. For pathology post, a PG degree in lab medicine will be considered

• Ph. D or equivalent in pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, physiology and anatomy from a recognized institution will be considered for non-medical candidates

Experience:

Additional Professor: Candidates must possess 9 years of teaching/research experience after qualifying degrees or three years experience as Associate Professor.

Associate Professor: Candidates must possess 6 years of teaching/research experience after qualifying degrees or three years experience as Assistant Professor.

Age: Upper age limit is 50 years for associate professor and 58 years for additional professo, which is relaxable for government servants/OBC/ST/SC candidates up to 5 years and relaxation is applicable for exceptionally deserving candidates as well.

Selection Procedure:

Candidates will be short-listed for interview based on the recommendation of search-cum-selection committee. Interview will be held at New Delhi or at respective AIIMS.
