Candidates can seek admission to B.Tech courses offered at Siliguri Institute of Technology through entrance tests like WBJEE, AIEEE or JELET. Admission to MCA course will be based on the entrance test known as JECA. It is possible to join MBA course through entrance test like JEMAT or equivalent entrance test. The institute will prepare a merit list based on these entrance test scores. Central Selection Committee of West Bengal will conduct counselling for the short listed students in the merit list for final selection purposes.

Admission procedure

B.Tech - Admission procedure will be different for those who are applying for the admission to first year of B.Tech course and those who are applying for direct admission to second year. Aspirants who have passed final examination of XII standard can apply for first year admission and diploma holders can apply directly for second year admission. Those who are appearing for the final year examination of senior secondary course are also eligible for first year admission if they can submit their mark sheets and pass certificate of final year examination at the time of admission.

Candidates who seek admission to first year should appear for either West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) or All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). Score obtained in any of these entrance tests will be considered for the first year admission. But direct admission to second year will be given in accordance with the score obtained in JELET (Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Admission).

MCA - Candidates who seek admission to MCA course should have completed their graduation from any University approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and should have studied Mathematics during graduation or senior secondary level. Final merit list of candidates eligible for admission will be prepared according to the score obtained in Joint Entrance Examination for Computer Application (JECA) conducted for MCA course.

MBA - Graduates in any stream can seek admission to MBA course if they possess adequate score in Joint Entrance Examination for Management Studies (JEMAT) or any equivalent management aptitude entrance test. Admission will be based on merit list prepared according to the JEMAT or equivalent management aptitude entrance test score.
