Eligibility requirements

To apply for any of the undergraduate courses, one should pass their senior secondary examination from a recognized Board/University. Marks obtained in relevant subject (main subject in selected undergraduate course) or aggregate (sum of best marks obtained in any four subjects except compulsory Environmental Study/Education) obtained in senior secondary or equivalent course is considered for eligibility requirements. However, relaxation in marks is given for SC/ST candidates.

To pursue any postgraduate course, one should pass their B.A/B.Sc degree in relevant subject (main subject in selected postgraduate course) from a recognized University. Also, they should obtain specified percentage of marks in the concerned Honors paper. SC/ST candidates can apply for any postgraduate course if they possess minimum of 40% marks in relevant Honors subject.

Admission procedure

Candidates should first of all submit their application form for the specific undergraduate or postgraduate course. They should specify their aggregate or marks obtained during qualifying examination in application form. Then only the concerned authority can check whether the candidates possess specified eligibility requirements. First Merit list will be prepared according to the aggregate or marks of eligible candidates in the qualifying exam.

Counseling will be held for the candidates in the order of their position in merit list. Candidates can express their choice for subjects during counseling so that the concerned department can decide whether the candidates are eligible for available seats. Final Merit List will be published after this counseling which includes the list of candidates and their specialization. Availability of seats, choice of candidates and the specified eligibility requirements are the factors which decide the specialization of candidates. After checking the final merit list, candidates can join concerned course on the date specified for admission.
