Distance education is a mode of education for those who for some reasons or the other cannot pursue educational courses on a regular basis. Annamalai University is a pioneer in providing distance education. The Directorate of Distance Education in the University is working towards it. It is recognized by the Distance Education Council, Delhi.

The University offers many undergraduate courses of which there is a three year degree course in Bachelor of Computer Application. This degree is very useful for students who want to have a career in the field of Computers.

In the first year of the course there is a paper on online systems and web designing. We all know the importance of Internet in our world. In such a scenario knowing web designing is like a boon. A computer expert should also know how online systems work. The exam of the subjects is a conventional exam of duration 3 hours. There are two sections in the paper. Section A has 10 questions. Students have to answer any five out of the ten. Each question is of 5 marks. Section B has five questions and students have to answer any three. Each of the questions in this section carries 20 marks.
