There is something fascinating about the 3D animation which makes it so big among all the age groups. The 3D animation plays an important part in the Indian film industry. There is handful of releases in the 3d format every year. The movies made in the 3D format are normally meant for the younger generation. But the movies that are made in the 3D format attract the people of all ages. Thus it brings the people of all ages to the theatres.

The 3D animation plays a lead role in understanding the present, past as well as the future scenario in this modern era of digital media. Due to this the demand of skilled animators are increasing tremendously. The “Bachelor of Arts in 3D animation and visual effects” is a three year graduation program. This course trains the students to use cameras, Software, Effects makeup, Foam latex etc. The students also learn how to edit and create films as well. The course also keeps focus on the animation production field. The students those who are pursuing their final year of their academics have to submit a film which is based on computer graphics as a part of their project.

The Objective of the Course

The objective of the course includes application of composite digital techniques, the working and control of cameras etc. A 3d animator should have immense knowledge about the domestic and global 3D animation industry, the techniques and aesthetics of Cinematography, the visual effects that is applicable to both the domestic and global industry. The professional should be able to understand the node based compositing techniques, the animation production pipeline as well as the basics of film editing. He should be also capable of working with 3D studio max.

The Scope of the Program

In the early days, the aspirants were able to enter into the Bollywood through film institutes. The film institute is the place where the students were taught about the different aspects of film making. The students get training on acting, cinematography, direction, choreography etc from these institutes.  A new topic has also been added to this course now and that is animation. The candidates must undergo a course in animation in order to get a ticket into the film industry.
