Advertisements

Two courses are very closely related, but there is quite a bit of difference in terms of the focus of the subject and career opportunities associated with the topics.

BA LLB

BA LLB is a five year degree programme. The course is an integration of arts and law. Any student who has completed 10+2 can join for this course. For the admissions, they have to qualify an entrance exam. There are many universities in India which provides this course. The course includes the arts subjects and law subjects. It also had training sessions and research projects at the final year. The training consists of many practical sessions including the court attendance.

The career opportunities for these graduates are huge nowadays. They can find jobs in public and private sectors. Most of these graduates practice law as a profession and becomes advocate. There are many opportunities in the Central and State Government firms also for them.

BBA LLB

BBA LLB is also a five year programme. But it is an integration of management and business subjects and law. This degree programme is introduced approximately in 2004 and a large number of youngsters are attracted towards this course nowadays. The students who have completed their secondary education can join this course. The course is offered by two institutes in India- Symbiosis, Pune and NLU Jodhpur.

The students who opt for this course have many career opportunities afterwards. As this course covers the management studies also, they can work with many corporate sectors and business firms.

Key Difference between BA LLB and BBA LLB

The main difference between these courses is that BA LLB covers arts subjects with law. On the other hand BBA LLB covers management and business subjects along with law. However the career opportunities for both these courses are same. These graduates can work as lawyer, legal advisor, law reporter, legal assistant, etc depending on their skills and experience.

Which course is better?

If one wants to practice law oneself then BA LLB will be the good choice. After this course one can specialize in the various fields like accounting, taxation, etc. The courses like CA, CS, ICWAI are meant for these specializations. But if one wants to work with the management and business fields then BBA LLB will be more advantageous. These graduates will mainly opt for corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, etc. However after any of these courses one can work in their area of interest.
