Located in Kolkata B.P.Poddar Institute of Technology and Management was established to pay homage to a great educationist and humanitarian of his times Shri B.P.Poddar. He was the one who laid the foundation of the Poddar Group which is now a highly respected commercial house of the country. This college has the approval of AICTE and is associated to the West Bengal University Of Technology.

Courses offered:

Many degree courses like B Tech, BCA, BBA and MCA are offered by this technological and management institute. The streams that one can opt for B Tech includes Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Each of these courses has a completion period of 4 years. The other courses like BBA, BCA and MCA are of three years duration each.

Admission:

The candidate to be admitted must have qualified the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination with a good rank. There are also few seats for the candidates qualifying AIEEE.

Infrastructure:

There are two high-tech campuses of B.P.Poddar Institute of Technology and Management. The courses such as MCA and B Tech are taught in the main campus of the institute. The next campus is there for carrying out management education. It goes without saying that the laboratories are provided with most advanced equipments and the library has a very large collection of books. Internet facilities are available for the students all the time.

Placement:

The placement cell of the institute does its job perfectly and is very responsive to the students. Internationally acknowledged and established countries provide jobs to its students. Some of the names can be mentioned like Tech Mahindra, L&T InfoTech, iFlex, CTS, Infosys, Subex, ITC InfoTech, NIIT Technologies, DCPL, Sasken Communication, HCL, Sapient and Zen Technology.
