B.Sc (Hons) in Biomedical Science
The Biomedical Science degree with Honors is mostly aimed at those who wish to work in diagnostic and research laboratories in hospitals and medical institutions. The main areas of focus in the course include haematology and transfusion science, medical microbiology and clinical biochemistry.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must have a good percentage of 65 in order to be eligible for the course. In addition to this, the candidate is also required to give an entrance exam. It is only after this that the student is allowed entry into the course. There are reservations in the field as well. You need to submit the relevant documents in order to avail of those seats.
Course Outlook
It is a three year programme comprising of six semesters. The course includes lectures, seminars; practical classes and visits to specialist centres. The submission of papers and tests will be at the end of each term. The most important work during the period of the course is in the final year where the candidate is asked to make his own project work. The faculty comprises of experts in the field.
Job Prospectus
The graduates of Bio Medical Science can find work in the research field. Many professionals of the field are required in Hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. The student can also choose to go for a Masters’ degree in the same. Most students choose to go abroad to pursue Masters in the same.
