The Honours Degree in Food Technology aims at equipping students with the knowledge and technical skills to enter a competitive food processing industry not only at the national but also at the international level. Food Technology is a relatively new subject in India. However, the demand for the same is expected to increase in the near future.

Eligibility Criteria

Since it is an undergraduate programme, it is important for the student to have a good score at the 10 + 2 exam. Course Outlook

The course in Food Technology is a three year full time course divided in six semesters. The course has a few core subjects each semester along with a few electives. During the three years the student will undergo first hand training in Food design, Food industry in practice, Food nutrition, Food production and society, Food science, Food industry packaging, Food processing and preservation, Food manufacture etc.

Job Prospects

The graduates of the field are known to pursue hotel management and hospitality management. They are also known to work in eminent companies like Keloggs’, Parle etc. as trainees as well as employees. Most of the students are hired through campus recruitment. Many colleges also avhe exchange programmes with universities abroad.
