Admission Procedure for B.Sc in Forestry
Aspirants having completed their 10 + 2 class studies with Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/Mathematics can apply for this course. In University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore admissions are offered on the basis of candidate’s score in XII class. This is allowed only for candidates seeking admissions through general quota. Children of agriculturist’s can have admission through agriculturist quota. Here admissions are offered on the basis of 12th class marks along with score obtained in practical test. The practical test is conducted by the University to evaluate candidate’s knowledge in agriculture and related products. The test is conducted for 200 marks and those who score below 100 marks will be disqualified. In this test, candidates are required to identify 40 specimens in seeds, fertilizers, agri-equipments, etc.
In Birsa Agricultural University 85% of the admissions is done through Jharkhand Combined Competitive Entrance Examination Board, Ranchi. Rest of the seats is filled on the basis of entrance test conducted by ICAR/VCI. Admission process for the course varies with institution.
