Calicut University is located in Thenjipalam, Kerala. It came into existence in 1968. The university has more than 300 colleges under its affiliation. The university has been offering courses in myriad of streams, which include Arts, Science, Engineering, management, Nursing, Pharmacy, Law, Dental and many more.

Engineering Mathematics is taught to the 3rd semester students majoring in Electronics and Communication. This subject is very important for all the branches of engineering as it forms the base for all engineering. All the applications of Engineering require Mathematics in one form or the other.

Division of the Engineering Mathematics 3 paper:

Mathematics is one of the most important subjects in any branch of engineering. And when it comes to Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mathematics seems to be indispensable. The maximum marks for the paper is 100 and students get 3 hours to solve those questions. The paper is divided into 2 sections. Section A carries question of weightage 40 marks and Section B carries questions of 60 marks.

Paper pattern & marking Scheme

There are 8 questions in Section A and all are compulsory. Each of the questions is of short answer type and contains 5 marks each. These questions test the basic mathematical skills of an individual. Section B has 4 questions all of which are to be attempted. Each of them carry 15 marks each and is subdivided into 2 to 3 sub questions. All the questions of this section come with a choice. So if a student is not comfortable with any of the questions, he can choose to attempt the second question provided.
