Central Board of Secondary education or better known as CBSE conducts class 10 board exams every year in the month of February or March. The exam starts with English or Hindi papers. There are two Hindi papers, Hindi A and Hindi B. The Hindi A paper is of 100 marks and the time allotted for answering all the questions is 3 hours. The students are also given a short time of 15 minutes to read the question paper. During this time they are not supposed to answer the questions.

The Hindi A paper is divided into 4 sections and 19 questions and answers to the questions of all the sections are compulsory. Answers to all parts of a question are to be answered one after another.  Section A contains unseen comprehension, Section B contains essay writing and Letter writing, Section C contains Grammar and Section D contains Questions from the text book. Students are required to answer all the questions however there are some choice with some of the questions. Special credit is also given to those candidates whose answers are brief and to the point.
