There are two categories of Sanskrit for class Xll students. One is Sanskrit core and the other is elective. What is Sanskrit core and elective? Core means the subject is compulsory and is essential to all studies in the curriculum. The core course material is also comparatively tougher than the elective course material. When percentage in boards is the criteria, prefer going for Sanskrit elective as a subject against the core course to increase your chances of getting better marks. Prepare well and all the best.

The CBSE Class XII Sanskrit core paper is of 70 marks has questions that test the candidates for knowledge of the Sanskrit language. The question paper is divided in to three segments. The first section of the question paper has straight one line answer questions. These questions are of 1 mark each. The second section has short descriptive kind of questions, which are of 3 to 4 marks each. The last section of the question paper has long questions of 6 marks each. These questions have long explanatory type of answers. The second and the third section have questions which come with choices.
