Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a test organized at the national level by AICTE to admit students into various management programs. The students need a very good score in this entrance test in order to get admission in any of the reputed institutes. This exam provides an opportunity for the aspirants to attain higher level studies in the field of management. The students can apply to colleges of their choice with these scores. Following are the details concerning the eligibility to apply for CMAT.

Basic Eligibility for CMAT

The students who have completed their graduation in any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate from any recognized University can apply for CMAT. The final year students of any graduation program are also allowed to apply for this exam. The reserved category candidates need only 45% marks in the qualifying exam to apply for CMAT.

Age Qualification for CMAT

No age limit is specified for applying for CMAT. The age limit will not be a criterion provided the candidate meets all the other specified qualifications

Application forms for the CMAT

The application forms will be given in the official website of the AICTE under the link CMAT. A new user should first of all register in this site and they will be provided with a user name and also a password. For further proceedings one should make use of these data. The details regarding the application fee and other information will be provided in the official website itself. The fees should be paid in any of the specified branches of State Bank of India. The applicants can fill the form online by specifying the relevant details. The details regarding fees payment is also there. After ensuring that all the data entered is accurate the applicant should click on the submit button. They will be acknowledged with a success message.

Exam pattern

CMAT will be having 4 sections. The exam consists of multiple choice questions. There will be a total of 100 questions having 25 questions in each section.

The total time allotted for this test will be 180 minutes. Each of the correct answers will carry 4 marks and for every wrong ones, 1 mark will be reduced as a penalty. The test includes questions from Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. The first section includes questions to check one’s analytical skills and also data interpretation skills. The second section focuses on evaluating one’s thinking ability. The third section is to analyze the language proficiency. The last section is aimed at evaluating the basic knowledge of the aspirants in various areas.
