The University of Delhi is one of the premier institutes in India. The University offers many undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil, and Ph.D courses in various streams. The University also offers many certificate and diploma courses. The admissions for various M.Phil and Ph.D programs are conducted on the basis of score obtained in the entrance exam.

Structure of Delhi University M.Phil/Phd Commerce Entrance Exam

The entrance exam paper for M.Phil/Phd Commerce consists of objective type questions. The candidate has to choose the correct answer from the given options. The total number of questions in the entrance exam will be 200. The duration of the Delhi University M.Phil/Phd Commerce Entrance Exam is 2 hours. There will be negative marks for each wrong answer. Each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark. For each wrong answer ¼ marks will be reduced. There will be 5 sections in the Delhi University M.Phil/Phd Commerce Entrance Exam. The candidates who qualify the written test will have to attend the interview. The marks obtained in the written test and interview will be considered for final selection.

Syllabus of Delhi University M.Phil/Phd Commerce Entrance Exam

  • Quantitative Methods For Research: There will be 60 questions in this section.
  • Accounting Finance & Tax: The total number of questions in this section will be 35.
  • International Business & Marketing: The number of questions in this section will be 35.
  • HRM & Law: There are 35 questions in this section.
  • Economics: The total number of questions in this section is 35.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should obtain a minimum of 55% of mark M.Com/MHROD/MIB/M.A. (Economics)/MFC/MBA examination. The aspirants with other post graduate degrees equivalent to M.B.A. from any recognized University can also apply for the entrance exam. The candidates with degrees other than M.Com/MHROD/MIB/M.A. (Economics)/MFC have to furnish an equivalence certificate from the Delhi University or the Association of Indian Universities or any other competent authority. These candidates can also apply for the Delhi University M.Phil/Ph.D Entrance Exam. Such candidates can appear for the entrance exam only provisionally. The application form of such candidates will be considered only after submission of their final result within the time period set by the Department.

How to Apply?

The application form can be obtained along with the brochure from the University of Delhi. The candidates have to submit the filled in application form to Delhi University, University of Delhi, Delhi - 110 007. A demand draft in favour of Registrar, University of Delhi, from any Nationalized Bank is to be sent along with the filled in application form. The candidates who are appearing for only one program have to send a DD of Rs. 500/- along with the completed application form. The candidates who want to join for both the courses have to send a demand draft of Rs. 800/- along with the application form.

How to fill the Form?

The candidate should fill in the application form very carefully. All the information entered in the application form should be correct. The applicant should enter the name, father’s name, date of birth as per the high school certificate. The candidate should affix the latest photograph in the application form. The applicant should provide full address along with the pin code. The candidate should enter all the bank details after referring to the demand draft. The candidate should enter all the details personally. The applicant should cross check once again before submitting the application form.
