Commerce is an elective subject provided under Tamil Nadu Board of Higher Secondary Education among Home Science, Geography and Commerce.

Division of Paper:

The Commerce paper is split into four sections. The first section consists of only compulsory objective and Fill in the Gap type questions. The second section consists of short answer questions with a length limit of four lines. The third section questions that are to be answered within one page limit and the last section consists of questions to be answered within two pages.

Time allotted for the Examination and the marks:

The paper has an assigned duration of three hours with a maximum obtainable score of 200 marks.

Paper Pattern:

The four sections of the paper differ in the type and word limit imposed on the questions. Section A comprises of twenty compulsory objectives and twenty Fill in the Blank questions, one mark each. Section B consists of fifteen questions out of which only ten are to answered, 10 marks each. Section C requires five out of eight to be attempted, eight marks each. Section D holds four compulsory questions, 20 marks each. Each of the four questions has two choices for the students. The question papers is very much scoring and there are plenty of choices in the paper for the students. The students should use this benefit at the fullest to get high marks out of it.
