Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) was started in the year 1957 as Madras Service commission. The Madras Service commission came to be known as Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission in the year 1970. The preliminary functions and responsibilities of the TNPSC are making direct recruitment to State, Subordinate and Ministerial services, and to conduct department examinations for Government Servants.
Job Profile:
Eligible candidates are called for the position of Deputy Collector by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.

Pay Scale – Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs.5400
Qualification Requirement:
Age – Candidates, who are interested in applying for the post of Deputy Collector must be between the age group of 21 and 35 years. (For SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC(OBCM), BCM and Destitute Widows of all castes. For other category candidates the maximum age limit is 30 yrs.
Educational Qualification – The candidates should have a degree from any university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or any other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or any university under section 3 of the University Grants commission Act, 1956.
The candidates must have physical qualification as specified by TNPSC.
Selection Process:
The selection of the post is through preliminary examination, main written examination and interview. For complete details about the selection process, refer the website www.tnpsc.gov.in.

How to apply:
Eligible interested candidates can download the application form from http://tnpsc.gov.in or obtain the application form from the sales counter of the office of the TNPSC, No.1, Greams road, Commerical Tax Annexe Building, Chennai -600006. Candidate scan also apply online through the website http://tnpsc.gov.in.
Completely filled application should be dropped to the following address along with postal receipt of fees and required documents:

Application fees:
The Preliminary examination fee of Rs. 75 must be paid through one of the Post Offices listed in the website. The Main written examination fee of Rs. 125 must be by those selected in the preliminary examination.
