Competition Commission of India shortly called as CCI came into existence in the year 2003 on the 14th of October and it was established by the Central Government of India. The commission has a chairperson and six other members and its main duty is the promotion of spirit of competitions and to wipe out the negative effects of competitions.

Competition Commission of India is looking for Professionals in the fields of financial analysis, economics and law with a flair for critical analysis and research for the positions of Director and Deputy Director, here are the details regarding the notification issued in this regard:

Name of the Positions: Director, Deputy Director

Number of Vacancies: Total number of Vacancies is 19, which is divided among the two positions as follows:

• Director – 01 (Economics)

• Deputy Director – 18, divided as follows:

o Law – 06 (4 for general, 1 for OBC and 1 for SC candidates)

o Financial Analysis – 01 (OBC)

o Economics – 11 (7 for general, 3 for OBC and 1 for SC candidates)

Eligibility:

Educational qualification and Experience:

Director:

Candidates must be Ph. D holders in industrial organization or micro economics of econometrics in the field of economics from a recognized university and they should possess eight years experience in relevant field. Even candidates with Master’s degree in economics and 12 years of experience in relevant field can apply. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in competition law.

Deputy Director:

• For Law department, candidates must be UG degree holders in law with three years experience in relevant field inclusive of corporate sector.

• For Financial Analysis department, candidates must be PG degree holders in business administration or commerce with finance and accounting. Even financial analysts/cost and works accountants/company secretaries and chartered accountants are eligible to apply. In addition candidates must possess three years experience in appropriate field.

• For Economics, candidates must be PG degree holders in economics/statistics with not less than three years experience in relevant field

Selection Procedure:

Applications received within last date will be screened with reference to experience and educational qualification and shortlisted candidates will be called for written test to be held on 22nd of January 2011.
