ONGC invites applications for the post of Security Supervisor whenever a vacancy arises. Selection to this post will be based on an examination conducted by ONGC.

Details concerning the intimation of the examination

Accurate details have to be provided for the successful screening and processing of the application. The exact date of the examination will be intimated through the admit card. Details can be had from the ONGC website - www.ongcindia.com.

Selection Procedure

The selection is based purely on merit. The selection procedure will involve the following stages:

  • Written test
  • Physical Standard Measurement
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Personal Interview

The sequence of the selection process may undergo a change from time to time. The scores secured in these stages will be considered separately and/or in aggregate. The candidate is required to pass each of these tests separately.

Written test: The written test is Objective in nature. The questions will be based on candidate’s qualifying degree. Mainly general awareness of the candidate will be tested in this section. The question paper will be in two languages, i.e., English and Hindi.

Physical Standard Measurement: Those candidates who successfully complete the written test will be called for the Physical Standard Measurement. The required measurements differ in the case of males and females. While the male candidates are required to have a minimum height of 168 cms, female candidates should have a minimum of 152 cms. The chest should be 81 cms with an expansion of 5 cms for male candidates. The physical standard for females requires a height, proportionate to the weight. The weight should not be less than 46 Kgs.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET): The post of Indian security supervisor is one that  involves physical exhaustion. Stamina, endurance and agility will be tested in this test. This test includes sprint, high jump and long jump. Driving test will also be a part of the Physical Efficiency Test. The guidelines specified by ONGC are to be adhered to, to avoid any possible mishaps. There will be no PET for Ex-Servicemen.

Personal Interview: The candidates, in this round are required to answer the questions of the interview board clearly and intelligently. The candidates should also take care not to give out false or exaggerated information concerning their bio-data.
