Atomic Minerals Directorate (AMD) for Explosion & Research started functioning from October 3, 1950. AMD had a nucleus of 17 geoscientists when it was established. At present AMD has 2777 geoscientists. The main purpose behind the establishment of AMD is to carry out geological exploration and identify mineral deposits needed for the successful completion of Atomic Energy Power Programme in India.

AMD is responsible to conduct exploration for uranium, and other prescribed substances such as thorium, zirconium, beryllium, tantalum, lithium, niobium, rare-earths and other minerals such as ilmenite and rutile. AMD is also responsible to buy minerals prescribed by Government from private mine owners. Many scientists of AMD have received awards In recognition to significant contributions made in different fields.

Job Profile:

Atomic Minerals Directorate for Explosion & Research (AMD) invites application from eligible candidates for the post of Driver.

No of Posts: 20

Pay Scale – Rs. 5200 - 20200 + Grade pay of Rs. 1900 + DA and other allowances

Eligibility:

Age criteria – The maximum age limit is 27 years (Relaxable as per rules).

Educational Qualification – The candidates must have passed 10th class or equivalent and must hold a valid heavy vehicle driving license. They must have 3 years light/ heavy vehicle driving experience. candidates with 12th standard and/ or Diploma holders can also apply for the post. Selection Process:

The selection for the post is through driving test and interview. Only short listed candidates will be called for the driving test and interview.
