The Dronacharya College of Education was established in the year 2006 by the Ocean society. It is a non-governmental self-financing institution affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University located at Shimla. Initially, the college started to offer B. Ed course alone and later some of the professional courses were introduced in the year 2008. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council have approved Dronacharya College with ‘B’ Grade status.

Courses offered:

As mentioned earlier, Dronacharya College of Education offers B. Ed course, which is recognized by the NCTE. Other professional courses offered by the college are bachelor of computer application, bachelor of business administration and post graduate diploma in computer application.

Intake capacity and admission procedure:

For the B. Ed course, Dronacharya College has an intake capacity of 200 students and admission to this course is done through counseling conducted by Himachal Pradesh University based on the merit secured by the students in the qualifying examination. The intake capacity of the college for other three courses is 40 students per course and students are admitted on merit basis for these courses.

Infrastructure:

The campus of Dronacharya College is Wi-Fi enabled with 24 hours internet facility. The classrooms in the college are well furnished and airy, the college offers separate hostel facility for girls and boys with ample space for recreation, and it is constructed in a learning-stimulative environment. The central library of the college has a rich collection of international & national books, electronic media support, magazines, journals, periodicals, research reports in the form of CDs and DVDs. The other infrastructural facilities in the campus are language lab, multipurpose hall, ICT resource center, etc…
