The Cotton Corporation of India Ltd. was established on July 31, 1970 under Companies Act 1956. It is basically a Government Company which aims to undertake the commercial operations only at CCI’s own risk. The company was initially set up as an agency in public sector. The major objective of the company is to distribute the cotton among different constituents of the industry. The icompany also serve as a vehicle for the canalization of imposrts of cotton. The company also acts as a nodal agency of Government of India for undertaking the price support operations.
