Eligibility Criteria for IIT JAM and Coaching Centers for preparation
The Joint Admission test for M.Sc (JAM) is conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai. Admission to various Master of Science programmes, M.Sc- Ph.D. dual degree and joint degree programme and other related post bachelor’s programmes will be based on the rank secured in the Joint Admission test. The subjects included in IIT JAM exam syllabus are as given below.

- Mathematics
- Mathematical Statistics
- Physics
Applicants are required to fulfill all the eligibility criteria specified, for admission to different IIT’s.
Eligibility Criteria for IIT JAM
Candidates are required to have a minimum of 55% in the qualifying examination. All the candidates who belong to the SC/ST/PD category should have obtained an aggregate of 50% marks in the qualifying examination. The aggregate percentage should include the marks scored in all the years of study. It should include the marks secured in the main subjects, subsidiary subjects and languages.
The minimum educational requirements for the subject opted by the candidate should be fulfilled. It depends on the academic programme and institute opted by the candidate. Candidates opting to purse a post graduation in Statistics should have completed a graduation course in Mathematics or Statistics. For all the courses related to Mathematics offered in the IITs candidates should have completed a bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as the main subject. The minimum educational requirement for admission to the Master of Computer Application (MCA) course is a Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as the main subject.
Candidates opting for the various Post Bachelor courses in Geology should have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Geology. Candidates who have completed their graduation with Physics and Mathematics as the main subjects are eligible to apply for the Master’s programme in Geophysics.
Candidates are required to prove their medical fitness at the time of admission. Candidates should submit a physical fitness certificate from a registered practitioner at the time of admission.
