Fazl Ali College came into existence in the year 1959 on the 8th of September and right from its inception, the college has emerged as one of the leading educational institutions in the state of Nagaland. The college holds the pride of being the oldest institution in the state of Nagaland, which is operating with affiliation from the Nagaland University. Initially, the college began its educational journey as a private institution and later in the year 1962, the college was taken over by the Government of Nagaland.

Courses offered:

Fazl Ali College offers Bachelor of Arts courses both at honors and at pass level and the subject offered under arts stream are:

The college offers Bachelor of Arts (pass) in the aforesaid subjects and Bachelor of Arts (honors) is offered in the following subjects:

Of these subjects, mathematics and geography subjects can be taken up by candidates from both arts and from science stream of education, while other subjects can be pursued only by candidates with arts background at the higher secondary level.

The college offers Bachelor of Science (honors) alone in the following subjects:

Eligibility conditions and selection procedure:

For getting into the honors courses in arts and science stream of education offered by the Fazi Ali College, candidates must have completed their higher secondary with a minimum score of 45% in concerned subject. In case, candidates have not studied that particular subject in which he/she is seeking admission at the honors level, they must have acquired aggregate of 45% of marks at the higher secondary level of education.

Selection of candidates is normally based on the merit secured by the candidates in the qualifying examination. However, concerned department of the college might conduct a screening test for selection of candidates for the course.

Admission:

Admission of students to the Fazl Ali College normally begins after the declaration of university or HSSLC results. Applications forms can be obtained from the office of the college on payment of prescribed fee in cash. While submitting the application before the prescribed dates, documents like attested copies of mark sheet of the previously completed examination, attested copy of certificate from the principal or head of the previously studied institution and three recent passport size photos should also be submitted.
