Madras Service Commission was established in 1929 under the Madras Legislature Act. In 1970, the Madras Service Commission came to be known as Tamilnadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). The primary functions of the Commission are to make direct recruitment to State, Subordinate and Ministerial services, and to conduct department examinations for Government Servants.

Educational Qualification – Candidates must have Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or its equivalent (Or) Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in any of the following subjects:

Computer Science/Computer Application, chemistry, botany, Agriculture, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Veterinary, Engineering Agriculture / Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics / Environmental Science / Geology / Horticulture).
