-graduation in any of the Science subjects, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Geology, Maths or Statistics, Agriculture or Forestry -Min age-21 years & max age -30 years -citizen of India Notification: Date of Notification : 31st march, 2012 Last Date for Receipt of Applications either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier : 30th April, 2012 Date of Examination : 14th July, 2012 |

Education Qualification for IFS
For the Indian Forest service examination a candidate should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university. Yes, B.E. Graduates can sit for IFS exam as the educational qualification for IFS is Graduate in any discipline.
IFS stands for INDIAN FOREST SERVICE, the exam for which is conducted bu UPSC once every year. The candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam in any stream or pass from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness, is eligible to apply for IFS. To apply for this examination you must have completed degree with one of the subject Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Geology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics , statistics and Zoology. IFS is Indian Forest Services examination conducted by UPSC every year.
If you are Graduate in subjects like Forestry, Agriculture, Zoology, Botany , Geology, Animal Husbandry , Veterinary Science, Mathematics , Physics , Statistics , Engineering. Then you can apply for this exam. If you become a Forest Officer then you will be posted in various forests across the country. Age limit is 21 to 30 years if you are general category candidate . There is age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC , 10 years for physically handicapped. You can apply for IFS exam through UPSC website . There is online application available for every exam of UPSC . You have to select exam for which you are applying. There will be preliminary exam , mains exam and personal interview . Only those who qualify preliminary exam will be fit for Mains exam. The selection will be based on marks obtained in Mains and Interview. Prelims is only for qualifying for the mains paper and its marks will not be counted in final selection. |

Indian Forest Service (IFS) will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) These are the eligibility criteria that you must meet in order to take the Indian Forest Service Exam 2012 (IFS 2012): Nationality : A candidate must be either:- (a) A citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or Age Limits: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, 2012 The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable:- up to a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. up to a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. up to a maximum of five years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989. Yes definitely B.E. Graduates can sit for IFS Examination. this is because the educational qualification that you require to set your self eligible for the IFS Exam is : * Graduation in any discipline from any recognized college/university . Age Limit : 21-30 years. Age Relaxation : 3 years for OBC Candidates 5 years for SC/ST Candidates. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. The INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAMINATIONS are conducted annually by the UPSC in JULY.The notifications regarding the release of application forms for the same are announced in February/March.
The complete ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for the IFS exams are mentioned below- [A] NATIONALITY You must be a citizen of India, or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India before 1962. [B] AGE LIMITS. You must be 21 To 30 Years of age.The upper age limit is however relaxable by 5 Years for SC/ST and by 3 Years for OBC candidates. [C] EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS. IFS is the Indian Forest service job post for which entrance exam has been conducted by the UPSC department IFS entrance exam eligibility: 1. you should be passed the bachelor degree in Forestry/ Botany/ chemistry/ Biology/ Agriculture/ Animal/ Zeology/ mathematics/ Physics etc from any recognized university these are some optional subjects from one of which are compulsory for the job post under the IFS service 2. age must be between the 21 to 30 years. age relaxation as per gov. rules 3. IAF stands for INDIAN FOREST SERVICE. This exam is conducted by UPSC. Eligibility ; You must have INDIAN NATIONALITY. And your age limit will be 21-30 years. And here age relaxation is also here for OBC 3 for SC/ST 5yrs are there And for this exam you must have graduation in any of the following subjects. Botney, chemistry, Geology, husbendry&veternory science, Zology Selection process ; Written test. Interview All the best |
