Can I study B.Tech in regular mode after completing Mechanical Engineering Diploma from IGNOU?


Sir, I would like to enroll myself for Diploma course in Mechanical Engineering in IGNOU. I want to know that after this course I am able to join B.Tech course in Mechanical Engineering in regular mode?

Yes, definitely you can study B.Tech course through regular mode after the completion of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from IGNOU, there is no problem in it.

Candidates those who have completed their Diploma course in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University scoring a minimum of 50% of marks in it are eligible to opt for the B.Tech course in the same through regular mode from different Colleges. You can get admission directly in the second year of B.Tech through lateral entry process.
