Here is the procedure to apply for scholarships in NLUs based on your CLAT score:

To be eligible for CLAT-based scholarships in National Law Universities (NLUs), you need to have good scores in CLAT or CASE common admissions test. Nationwide scores of 200+ will make you a strong candidate for scholarships and admissions in top NLUs. Some key points regarding CLAT scholarships:

Make sure you prepare well for CLAT and aim for high scores in aptitude, legal aptitude as well as sectional tests. Candidates with scores of 224 and above are usually considered strong rank-holders for scholarships and admission in top NLUs.

After announcing the CLAT results, shortlist some reputed NLUs you wish to seek admission and potential scholarship in. Contact their admission committee and request details on scholarships offered for merit-holders based on CLAT score. Some NLUs announce scholarship details after declaration of first admission list. So, be in touch with your preferred universities.

Most NLUs offer partial to full waivers of one or more components of fees like tuition fees, hostel fees and/or mess fees. The amount of scholarship depends on your CLAT All-India Rank (AIR), sectional scores and demand of candidate. Top scorers can hope to get 100% scholarships or fee waiver. Middle and lower rank holders will get proportional scholarships.

Scholarship details are mentioned on university websites that include fee head covered, percentage coverage, validity period, application procedure, deadline, etc. Meet the deadlines to submit a strong application highlighting your qualifications, interests, extra-curricular achievements and scholarship need.

Shortlisting and selection is based on both merit and needs assessment. Some scholarships may require interviews, completion of application forms and financial documents proving ability to pay remaining fees. Be prepared for same in case called for scholarship interviews.

NLUs announce first and/or second list of selected/waitlisted candidates with scholarship details. Report to the university to accept offer and complete admission formalities within deadline mentioned on website. Keep documents ready for admission and fee remittance as per guidelines.
