If you are studying in a school which is affiliated to a central board like CBSE then your class 10 certificate will also hold the same value. However, there are other state board as well which validates a school. All the state and central boards are recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Moreover the ministry has made class 10 exam as an optional choice of the student. If you want you can pursue it as a board exam and if you do not want then you can continue as a normal one, as you appear in class 8 or 9 exams.
