Re: NCERT books or reference books? for class 10th maths
Dear Vidushi,
although it is true that NCERT books are a bit short on explanation, if you go through them thoroughly there is nothing better than that . I speak from personal experience when i say that the NCERT should be your BIBLE and BACKBONE of study when you prepare for the boards. I Am not saying don't study from guidebooks like R.S.Aggarwal or R.D.Sharma (they give you much needed practice of good questions) but not at the cost of NCERT. Also you might want to go through U-LIKE papers and books, a LOT of questions come directly from there |

Re: NCERT books or reference books? for class 10th maths
Hey,
According to me NCERT books are the best. But due to the complicated language used in the book your teacher must have said not to prefer the book as it is tough to follow. If you can follow through the book and if you can understand the language then go through it else you can follow maths by R.S Agarwal or R.D Sharma. all the best |

Re: NCERT books or reference books? for class 10th maths
don't get confused visushi.
i now how you are feeling now. even the same i used to feel. i used to get very much doubts in maths subject, but i din't lose hope, i made my self such that now, if you ask me whats your favorite subject, then i will definitely say MATHS. because i used to write formula in one paper and stick it to the front wall so that whenever i wake up i will used to see that. i used to clear my doubts with my teacher. i used several books. yes your friends are right refer NCERT book its really help full try to solve each and every problem including sample problems. if you want to refer other than NCERT, then refer R D SHARMA.. good luck..vidushi. hope you have got your query cleared. |

how can any one post some notes for you or for a particular subject.
but i must tell you, you don't need any books. because NCERT books are made by many professional teachers. so you don't need any notes from any one. have a habbit of underlining each and every line having important contents. |

Re: NCERT books or reference books? for class 10th maths
If you are in 10th then board exam point of view i'll suggest you NCERT Maths book are best.
Question pattern is almost same as the examples of NCERT. Some of the reference books for 10th standard maths: - R.S.Agarwal - R.D.Sharma - Khanna Publication Try to solve more and more numerical. All the Best.. |

You must be aware of the fact that almost 93% of your boards questions are either taken directly or referred to your NCERT book. So I would suggest you to read thoroughly your NCERT book and solve each and every questions of it. however if you left with some extra time then you may for refrence book like that of R.S.Agarwal |

Re: NCERT books or reference books? for class 10th maths
Hi dear,
generally the method given in a reference books are lengthy and are bit tricky and so takes more time to understand.....the ncert books re the best for the board preparation..... but if you have completed your text book more than three time then probably you can go for reference books to get more practice ........... Thanks |
